MCGEOUGH Custom Homes was founded on architectural principals that focus on light, flow, materials and topography to create a home’s harmonious livability. With the help of the top architects, interior designers, landscape architects and civil engineers we do extensive site studies and client interviews to truly understand how the homeowner will interact with the indoors and outdoors. Ultimately this vision is put into plan form and meticulously managed from tree clearing all the way to final fit and finish.
“The good building is not one that hurts the landscape, but one which makes the landscape more beautiful than it was before the building was built.” – Frank Lloyd Wright
John McGeough, Builder/Developer
John grew up with a passion for cars and homes and was always fascinated with the architecture and machinery that is used to create unique, functional designs. With a sketch book never too far away, he would often be observed drawing a rear spoiler for a muscle car or a cantilevered bunk bed off his younger brother’s bedroom wall. With a background in high-tech, real estate brokering and construction, John began the process of building a boutique home building company to create the most extraordinary homes in the Northeast. He views the company as a legacy that will inspire high design home building for future generations.
His passion is still felt today in every home he helps build, except instead of designing spoilers and bunk beds he now designs roof decks, elevators, golf simulators, glass staircases and every other custom amenity available in the marketplace.
“Ah, to build, to build! That is the noblest art of all the arts.”
– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Patrick McGeough, Senior Project Manager
Throughout his career Patrick has utilized his landscape architecture education and environmental design experience to effectively collaborate with the top firms in Massachusetts to ensure a seamless indoor/outdoor living experience. With every project’s unique design of physical attributes, what is most important to him is creating a true sense of space and balance. The study of spatial balance began at an early age studying maps, geological formations, weather patterns and skyscraper designs that all help push the boundaries of architectural programs for each home. He also applies a comprehensive understanding of construction methods that enable him to execute the highest quality fit and finishes that each MCGEOUGH Custom Home demands.
Good architecture should be a projection of life itself, and that implies an intimate knowledge of biological, social, technical and artistic problems”.
– Walter Gropius
